Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce Launches "Sports Economy Committee" Chaired by Dr. Issam Al-Ghriwati
DAMASCUS, Syria — The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce announced the formation of the "Sports Economy Committee," chaired by Dr. Issam Al-Ghriwati. This strategic step aims to boost investment in the sports sector and develop its commercial and physical infrastructure.
The newly established committee is tasked with key responsibilities to advance the sports ecosystem from an economic perspective, focusing on the following mandates:

Attracting Investments: Preparing local and foreign investment portfolios to upgrade sports infrastructure in cooperation with relevant authorities.

Commercial Marketing: Managing sponsorship rights, securing endorsement contracts for national teams, clubs, and major events, and activating commercial brands and broadcasting rights in coordination with the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

Sports Tourism: Activating sports tourism, hosting championships, and developing the direct and indirect economic impact of sports events.

Governance and Management: Contributing to the governance and management of sports assets and facilities through permanent commercial operations and implementing operational plans to ensure financial sustainability.

Transfer Market: Assisting in developing the players' transfer market and talent manufacturing, establishing strategies for buying and selling player contracts, and supporting coaches and youth academies.

Economic Research: Preparing sports economic studies and research, analyzing the investment market, and conducting feasibility studies for sports projects.

Entrepreneurship: Supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in sports by establishing business incubators for tech-related sports projects, and incentivizing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to enter supply chains for the sports industry (clothing, nutrition, and equipment).
