National Private Sector Conference in Damascus Discusses Strengthening Economic Partnerships and Supporting Development in Syria
The National Private Sector Conference commenced today at the Conference Palace in Damascus, organized by the Syrian Ministry of Economy and Industry in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and in partnership with Japan.
The conference is attended by a delegation from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, including several board members, the federation’s Director General, and a number of directors of provincial chambers of commerce.
Through its dialogue sessions and open discussions, the conference aims to establish a new partnership between the public and private sectors and explore the private sector’s contribution to supporting economic development goals. Participants are also discussing financial challenges and opportunities related to empowering the private sector, as well as issues concerning production, value chains, supply chains, trade, and market access.
The sessions further address skills development, technological advancement, and innovation to enhance employment opportunities and generate greater social and developmental impact. In addition, discussions focus on the role of international partners in supporting Syria’s private sector and present an economic vision for Syria’s future.
The conference will continue for three days with the participation of representatives from both the public and private sectors, economic experts, business leaders, and international development partners
