Syrian Young and Entrepreneurs Council: A New Platform to Empower Innovation and Boost the Economy
In a move reflecting a new strategic direction toward empowering young talents and enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Syria, the President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce issued Administrative Decree No. /4/ of 2026. The decree establishes the "Syrian Young and Entrepreneurs Council" under the direct supervision of the Federation.
Based on the deliberations of the Federation's Board of Directors during its session held on April 13, 2026, this decision outlines a new phase focused on shifting from theoretical support for youth to actual empowerment. It aims to transform startups and innovations into sustainable economic entities capable of generating job opportunities and stimulating innovation.
According to the decree, Ziad Hossam El-Din Naoura has been appointed as President of the Council, and Mohammad Omar Al-Sharm as Vice President. The remaining members will be named through subsequent decrees issued by the Federation's leadership in accordance with the requirements of the upcoming phase.
The Council is expected to serve as a vital platform connecting young entrepreneurs with the private sector and economic institutions both inside and outside Syria. This will be achieved by organizing specialized conferences, forums, training programs, and workshops, thereby fostering a culture of creativity and innovation while supporting promising entrepreneurial initiatives.
Furthermore, the Council will task itself with proposing economic initiatives and projects that contribute to supporting development and creating new job opportunities for youth. This step is viewed as a significant push toward involving the new generation in shaping the Syrian economy in the coming period.
The decree takes effect immediately upon its issuance, amid widespread aspirations for the Council to become a true platform for the voices, ideas, and economic initiatives of the youth
