A plant in Syria fined 10 thousand pounds

The Director of Agriculture in Homs, Nazih Rifai, confirmed that the area planned to be planted with rain-fed winter crops amounted to 88,280 hectares, pointing out that the plan for rain-fed winter planting included barley crop by 48938 hectares.
Rifai revealed that the Directorate has developed its production plan for the next season of rain-fed and irrigated winter and summer crops and includes areas of the province, whose extension provides a great diversity of cultivated species.
For his part, the head of the Administrative Development Department at the Directorate and a member of the committee of breeding saffron plant in Syria, Abdul Masih Duaij, that the Directorate recently planted 1600 saffron korma in 4 nurseries and extension units in the province.
Duaij considered that the saffron plant as red gold because of its great medical and economic benefits and therefore the price of grams worldwide ranges from 3 to 10 thousand pounds, pointing out that recent scientific research has proven its role in the fight against cancer diseases and genetic genetic deformities.
Duaij pointed out that the aim of the project is to propagate the field and expand the cultivation of saffron plant within the project of the Ministry of Agriculture to propagate it in Syria.
