Empowering Syria’s Future: Highlights from the SIYB Entrepreneurship Program Conclusion
The Human Resources and Professional Development Center of the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry concluded the global training program "Start and Improve Your Business" (SIYB). The program, held in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), was attended by Board Member Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh.
Developmental Partnerships & Funding Opportunities:
The closing ceremony was attended by the Chamber’s Director, Mr. Wassim Saad, and Mr. Abdul Karim Houriya, representing the Aga Khan Foundation. Mr. Houriya highlighted the foundation’s vital development projects in Syria—particularly in agriculture and relief—and announced the foundation's readiness to adopt innovative, sustainable projects.
Practical Empowerment & Strategic Planning:
Eng. Wafaa Abu Labdeh emphasized that the program empowers small business owners with scientific business plans to access local and international markets and attract investors. Trainers Louay Nassar and Majd Mansour delivered six comprehensive modules covering marketing, growth planning, team management, cash flow, and inventory control.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants, who affirmed that the training provided them with the practical tools needed to transform ideas into organized economic entities.
