Within the framework of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Syria and Greece, Mr. Anas Joud, President of the LatakiaChamber of Commerce and Industry, held a meeting with Mr. Ioannis Bratakos, President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, in the Greek capital, Athens.The meeting addressed ways to develop economic and trade relations between the two sides. They discussed the possibility of launching a joint tourist and commercial maritime line linking Syrian and Greek ports, contributing to the revitalization of trade and tourism exchange between the two countries, and strengthening the Eastern Mediterranean's position as a hub for regional economic cooperation.Furthermore, both parties agreed to form a joint working committee responsible for exchanging ideas, visions, policies, and future plans aimed at developing institutional and economic cooperation between the two chambers, as well as establishing practical mechanisms to implement projects of mutual interest.Both sides emphasized the importance of building upon the historical relations connecting the Syrian and Greek peoples. They agreed to hold an upcoming meeting in Athens to finalize discussions and announce a twinning agreement between the Latakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Athens Chamber of Commerce, opening new horizons for economic, investment, and trade cooperation between the two sides, and serving the interests of the business community in both countries
