Upon a gracious invitation from the Latakia Chamber of Tourism, represented by the Chairman of its Board of Directors, Mr. Samer Al-Masri, a dinner banquet was held at the Lamera Hotel (formerly the Meridian). The event was hosted in honor of the visiting Turkish delegation from the city of Hatay, with the participation of representatives from chambers of commerce and industry, merchants, and tourism office owners, within the framework of strengthening economic and tourism cooperation between Latakia Governorate and the Turkish city of Hatay.The event was attended by Mr. Anas Joud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Latakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, accompanied by board members Mr. Al-Sharif Safi Al-Fadl and Mr. Hassan Janoudi. Also in attendance were Dr. Issam Soufi, member of the Executive Office of Latakia Governorate; Mr. Bashar Kilo, member of the Executive Office supervising the tourism sector; Mr. Fadi Nizam, Director of Tourism; and Mr. Talal Houria, Director of Investment. Additionally, the medical sector was represented by Dr. Issam Amira, Director of Al-Haffah Hospital, and Dr. Mowaffaq Soufi, Director of Medical Services, alongside a number of economic, medical, and social figures in the governorate.The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to develop economic and tourism relations between the two sides. It also aimed to enhance communication between commercial and tourism entities, contributing to the revitalization of tourism, investment, and commercial exchange. Furthermore, it opens new horizons for joint cooperation between Latakia Governorate and Hatay, drawing on their historical ties and geographical proximity.Participants emphasized the importance of continuing such meetings due to their role in building effective economic and tourism partnerships. They also highlighted their significance in strengthening channels of communication between public and private sector institutions in both countries, serving mutual interests and supporting the development process in the two neighboring nations
