Within the framework of enhancing cooperation and coordination with the International Labour Organization (ILO), Dr. Mazen Deirwan, Chairman of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, met with Ms. Claire Courteille-Mulder, Deputy Regional Director and Director of the Decent Work Team for Arab States at the ILO Regional Office, and Dr. Maha Kattaa, Regional Specialist for the "Prospects" and Sustainable Solutions Programs in Arab States at the ILO. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Khaldoun Daddou, Director of the Federation.The meeting discussed the outcomes of the Federation's participation in the 114th session of the International Labour Conference, which was recently held in Geneva. Discussions focused particularly on decent work issues within the platform economy, aiming to adopt the first international instrument for digital labor platforms, including job classification issues and algorithmic management.Emphasis was also placed on increasing cooperation between the Federation and the Organization to expand training and industrial apprenticeship programs. This aims to graduate qualified and trained human resources to supply industrial and economic facilities with expert, productive cadres, and to improve the income and living standards of the Syrian workforce. This comes in light of the significant increase in investments in Syria and the constant need for qualified labor to meet the growing demands of the markets and the labor market.At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to hold upcoming meetings to discuss the details and mechanisms of joint action between the Federation and the Organization regarding training and industrial apprenticeship, in cooperation with the Syrian Chambers of Industry
