Today, at the federation's headquarters, the President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Alaa Al-Ali, received Dr. Mac Skelton, the Executive Director of the Institute of Regional and International Studies (IRIS) at the American University of Iraq – Sulaimani, along with his accompanying delegation. During the meeting, they explored horizons for trade exchange and ways to enhance economic integration between Syria and neighboring countries, particularly Iraq. The meeting was attended by several board members of the Federation and the Reef Damascus Chamber of Commerce.The meeting covered discussions on the current status of economic relations and the challenges hindering their development. Additionally, they reviewed the investment climate in Syria, the private sector's role in supporting the economic recovery process, and expanding cooperation with other nations. The President of the Federation affirmed that the relevant authorities are making diligent efforts to eliminate obstacles preventing the development of trade exchange, pointing out the strategic importance of Syria's geographical location and its pivotal role in boosting regional economic integration
