In the framework of strengthening cooperation between the academic and economic sectors, and under the auspices of the Governor of Lattakia, Ahmed Mustafa, the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics at Lattakia University, participated in a workshop titled "Supporting National Industry as an Option to Boost the Economy and Exports." The event was attended by an elite group of officials, academics, and economic figures.The workshop was attended by Dr. Issam Soufi, member of the Executive Bureau of Lattakia Governorate, representing the Governor; Dr. Iyad Fahsa, President of Lattakia University; Mr. Anas Joud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber; and Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Rifai, Dean of the Faculty of Economics. Attendees also included representatives from the Jableh Committee and the Industrialists Committee, alongside faculty members, board members of the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and a large number of students and individuals interested in economic and industrial affairs.The workshop featured a panel discussion that addressed the current reality of the national industry, prospects for its development, the importance of enhancing its competitiveness, and its role in achieving economic development and increasing exports. Panelists included Dr. Rola Ismail from the Faculty of Economics, Mr. Anas Joud, Chairman of the Lattakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Hassan Androun, board member of the Chamber. The session was moderated by Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Rifai.Participants emphasized that supporting national industry constitutes one of the fundamental pillars for achieving economic recovery.
