Strategic Partnership: Chamber of Commerce and Industry Discusses Agricultural Mechanization and Financing with the European Union
The Secretary-General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Al-Sharif Safi Al-Fadl, received a delegation from the European Union in his office. This meeting comes within the framework of enhancing dialogue, joint cooperation, and reviewing the current state of the agricultural sector along with the challenges it faces.
During the meeting, the most prominent issues related to the agricultural sector were reviewed, particularly the reality of agricultural mechanization, the impact of land fragmentation on the utilization of modern machinery, and the weak purchasing power of farmers. The discussion also covered the resulting challenges that affect the development of the production process and the enhancement of the sector's efficiency.
Furthermore, the attendees discussed the importance of supporting agricultural mechanization, especially high-efficiency tractors and machinery that align with the farmers' needs. They also emphasized the necessity of developing agricultural financing programs and strengthening the role of financing institutions, thereby contributing to enabling farmers to modernize their equipment and improve their production.
Both sides affirmed the importance of continued cooperation and dialogue with various international partners to support the agricultural sector and promote sustainable economic development, stemming from the pivotal role that agriculture plays in supporting the national economy and achieving food security
