The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce held a virtual meeting with representatives from the European Commission and several major European companies to discuss ways to enhance economic cooperation and stimulate investment opportunities and partnerships.The meeting was chaired by the President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Alaa El-Ali, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Mudar Khoja, along with members of the Federation's Board of Directors and heads of specialized committees. Participating from the European side were representatives of the European Commission and companies operating in the fields of industry, energy, and logistics.El-Ali stated that the Federation has launched a system for issuing accredited professional certificates for the first time in its history, aiming to qualify personnel and link their skills to the needs of the labor market. He noted the Federation's aspiration to strengthen cooperation with European institutions in the fields of training, knowledge transfer, and capacity building.Participants discussed the needs and challenges facing the Syrian private sector, particularly in the areas of production, export, import, and infrastructure.
